Nicole Kidman approached Naomi Watts for permission to star opposite Liev Schreiber in “The Perfect Couple.”

The Oscar-winning actress will star alongside Liev, 56, in a new drama miniseries, but Nicole sought permission from Liev’s ex-partner Naomi before committing to the project.

Naomi, 55, who was with the actor from 2005 to 2016, told Entertainment Weekly: “We always check in, we’re best friends. It was very nice of her.”

Nicole and Liev play a married couple in the new Netflix series.

Naomi hasn’t had a chance to watch the show yet, but she decided to do so.

The actress shared, “I really want to (watch it) because everyone is raving about it. It just came out two days ago.

“I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve seen the trailer. It looks fantastic.”

Meanwhile, Nicole recently revealed that she enjoyed working with Liev on the set of the series.

Speaking about their on-screen romance, Nicole, who is married to music star Keith Urban, told Extra: “There was so much depth and heat in that relationship and he’s been through a lot over the years. How do you get through all that if you don’t have some passion and history together?”

Nicole noted that the series tackles a fascinating topic.

The actress also stressed that “interfering” in other people’s relationships is inappropriate.

The Hollywood star, who was previously married to actor Tom Cruise, said: “You never know why people stay together… I always say that about couples. That’s why you don’t interfere in people’s relationships because you never really know what they’re really doing and how they’re dealing with it.”
