Prince William’s children a bottleneck in a ‘slimmed-down monarchy’?

Prince William’s children a bottleneck in a ‘slimmed-down monarchy’?

Prince William is apparently considering his views on a slimmed-down monarchy.

The Prince of Wales, first in line to the throne, plans his children’s future and makes a key decision regarding the monarchy.

The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden weighs in on William’s views on working as a royal and whether he wants to follow in his father’s footsteps.

“When senior members of the family retire, His Royal Highness will no longer invite anyone to become a working member of the royal family,” the expert said.

The insider explained: “This is what William wants. He sees small European monarchies as a model for the future.”

He added: “The question remains whether he would even want his two younger children (Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis) to become working members of the royal family.”

Not only Prince William, King Charles’ beloved younger sister, but also Princess Anne supports the reduction of the monarchy.

In an interview last year, the Princess Royal admitted: “Well, I think this ‘slimming down’ thing was said at a time when there were a few more people around us. From my perspective, it doesn’t sound like a good idea, I would say. I’m not sure what else we can do.”

Speaking further about her brother, Princess Anne said: “Well, you know what’s in store for you because he’s been training for a while and I don’t think he’s going to change. You know, he’s committed to his level of service and he’ll stay that way.”
